Jonah Hill drops out of new Batman movie for rumored $10 million payday

Foreign media reported that Jonah Hill and Warner Bros. broke off negotiations and gave up playing the villain in the new Batman. The specific reason is unknown.

Jonah Hill has been negotiating with Warner for more than a month and is expected to play a "secret role", which is likely to be "Riddler" or "Penguin". In addition to the issue of role selection, the salary is a controversial point in the negotiations between the two parties.

It is reported that Hill once asked for a salary of $10 million, while the salary of the new "Batman" Robert Pattinson for the film was less than $5 million. In other words, Hill's salary was twice that of the core protagonist.

Jonah Hill was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar twice for "The Wolf of Wall Street" and "Moneyball". His new works include "The Beach Bum" and "Maniac". This year he also served as the producer of the acclaimed R-rated comedy "Good Boys".

The currently confirmed cast of the new version of "Batman" includes, in addition to the leading actor Pattinson, "Catwoman" Zoe Kravitz and "Commissioner Gordon" Jeffrey Wright.
