Matthew Vaughn wants Henry Cavill to star in Superman: Red Son

Matthew Vaughn, the director of the Kingsman series, has always been interested in directing a Superman movie, even if it is a remake of a Superman with a subversive plot. Recently, Vaughn was asked in an interview whether he wanted to make a live-action version of DC's Superman: Red Son, and he gave his opinion.

The main theme of "Superman: Red Son" is what kind of growth experience would have if the infant Superman had landed in the Soviet Union instead of the United States. This comic is written by Mark Millar, a cartoonist friend of Vaughn. Vaughn's "Kick-Ass" and "Kingsman: The Golden Circle" series are all adapted from his original works.

Vaughn first gave a high evaluation of "Superman: Red Son", saying: "Red Son is one of the wittiest comics I have ever read, and it is definitely more resonant in the era we live in today, because ignorance leads to more problems." Vaughn then said: "Can you imagine retelling the story of "Red Son" with Henry Cavill? That will definitely be a very interesting movie."

Matthew Vaughn and Henry Cavill worked together on "Stardust" many years ago, and recently they worked together on "Argyle: The Secret Agent". If DC Films really wants to shoot "Red Son", maybe they will have a chance to participate in it. In addition to "Red Son", Vaughn also said that if he has the opportunity to direct "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow", he will also seriously consider it.
