A baby squirrel was captured by humans soon after birth and was about to be eaten by a female cat, but unexpectedly, the female cat showed deep affection and raised him as if he were her own child. The baby squirrel, named Banner, lived happily with his mother until the hut they lived in caught fire and the two were separated. Banner was chased into the forest and met the animals, but the wild animals saw Banner as an outsider, having been raised in the human world. However, he soon connected with Banner and became a friend of the forest, and he used the knowledge he had gained in the human world to guide the animals.

Following on from the previous film "Jackie, the Little Bear", the director is Masao Kuroda and the character designer is Yasuji Mori.
