She has a serious personality, but this is due to her sense of responsibility as the eldest daughter, and in reality she seems to have a laid-back personality. She is in charge of the Minami family's diet. She is a member of the after-school club, but has the skills to be an immediate asset to the volleyball club.
  • Minami Kana: The second daughter of the Minami family, she is in her second year of junior high school. She is the most troublemaker of the three sisters due to her lively and energetic personality. In contrast to Haruka, her cooking skills are terrible. She gets excellent scores on tests that are full of humanity. She is good at both low and high kicks with her right leg.
  • Minami Chiaki: The third daughter of the Minami family and an elementary school student. She is a blunt and strict honor student. She has a talent for coming up with nicknames that mercilessly gouge others' weak spots, but the nickname she gave herself is "Princess." She gives off a mature impression, but she also has an elementary school student-like side.
  • Minami Touma: A fifth-grader at the same elementary school as Chiaki. Another eldest daughter of the Minami family. He is treated as Chiaki's younger brother because his name has the character "Fuyu" (winter). Fujioka thinks he is a boy.
  • Makoto (Mako-chan): A boy in Chiaki's class. He is cheerful and energetic, and often acts without thinking. He admires Haruka, and Kana suggests that he dress up as a girl when he goes to the Minami family home. When he is dressed as a girl, his nickname is "Mako-chan."

Review

Minami-ke Okawari is the long-awaited sequel to the Minami-ke series, which depicts the daily lives of the three Minami sisters. The unique humor and warmth of the original author, Sakuraba Koharu, is faithfully reproduced in the anime, entertaining viewers. In particular, the episodes that highlight the individual personalities of the Minami sisters provide both laughs and emotions.

The eldest sister, Haruka, is reliable, but there are many scenes where her laid-back personality is glimpsed, and her human side is charming. The second sister, Natsuna, is a lively and energetic troublemaker who makes viewers laugh, but her disastrous cooking skills add to the comedy. The third sister, Chiaki, is an honor student who speaks harsh words, and although she plays the straight man role, her elementary school student-like side is endearing.

Sub-characters such as Touma and Makoto also add color to the daily lives of the Minami sisters. Makoto's cross-dressing scenes in particular provide viewers with new laughs. Many of the subtitles for each episode are related to food, giving the viewers a sense of the warm, homely atmosphere of the Minami family.

In terms of music, the opening theme "Kokoro no Tsubasa" and the ending theme "Sono Koe ga Kiitakute" are sung by the three Minami-ke sisters, warming the hearts of viewers. The insert song "Kenken Shou Joushuu☆" also fits perfectly with the atmosphere of the series and draws viewers in.

Minami-ke Okawari is a work that provides viewers with empathy and laughter by depicting small changes and growth in everyday life. By revisiting the warm daily life of the Minami sisters, viewers will be able to spend a comfortable time.
