Duel Masters Cross is a TV anime series that aired on TV Tokyo from April 5, 2008 to March 27, 2010, and is the sixth installment in the Duel Masters series. The series is based on a card game and was created by Wizards of the Coast and Shigenobu Matsumoto. It was directed by Wamura Suzuki, animated by Shogakukan Music & Digital Entertainment, and produced by Shogakukan Shueisha Productions. The series has 100 episodes, each 10 minutes long, but with a dense storyline, depicting the growth and friendship of the hot-blooded boy Katsumi Kirifuda and his friends through duels.

story

The main character, Katsumi Kirifuda, is a fifth grade elementary school student who aims to become the best duelist in the world. He has a strong will to never give up no matter how tough the situation, and he has faith in his teammates. When Katsumi learns that Duel Master Yaesaru is hosting a Duel Masters World Championship, he decides to participate in the tournament with his friends, including Rekuta Kakuko, Byakuou, Mimi, Ryuga Tenchi, and George. However, the evil hand of their former enemy, Zakira, approaches them. Can Katsumi and his teammates stop Zakira's ambitions and become the best duelist in the world? This is the start of a heated battle.

The main characters of this work are as follows.

  • Katsumi Kirifuda : A passionate fifth grade boy. He loves Duel Masters and has a strong will to never give up no matter what the situation. His voice actor is Yumiko Kobayashi.
  • Rekuta Kakuko : A childhood friend and classmate of Katsumi. Although he has no skill in dueling, he always supports Katsumi. Voiced by Yuka Imai.
  • Tasogare Mimi : A beautiful duelist and karate expert. She challenges the Duel World Championships with Katsumi. Her voice actress is Saki Nakajima.
  • Byakuou : A genius young duelist who has never lost an official match. Katsumi's fateful rival. Voiced by Junko Minagawa.
  • Kyoshiro Kuroshiro : A user of the Dark Deck. He has a nefarious dueling style. His voice actor is Daisuke Kishio.
  • George Kamamoto : A wandering baby dandy. Although he is still a baby, he is a powerful duelist. His voice actor is Norio Wakamoto.
  • Tenchi Ryuga : Mimi's childhood friend and self-proclaimed "Mimi's destined rival." Extremely rich. Voiced by Seki Tomokazu.
