■ Story

Yumemi, a middle school girl, has had a problem that she has had since she was a child.
--Look, it's over there--
When she was still little, Yumemi innocently pointed to a spot far up in the sky where mysterious islands were floating.
--Huh? Where?--
However, none of her friends can see it. Then one day, a boy with red hair suddenly appears in front of Yumemi. His name is Munto.
He says he comes from the Sorcerer Kingdom, one of the countries in the heavenly world that Yumemi saw.
Long ago, the balance between the "Heavenly Realm" and the "Earthly Realm" was maintained by the circulation of the omnipotent power "Akuto."
However, long ago, a disaster occurred that closed off space-time, breaking the cycle and causing the Acts in the heavens to dry up, putting the heavenly nations in danger of disappearing.
If things continue like this, the Act of the Earthly World will eventually wear out and the world will be destroyed.
--We need your help!--
Munto, the king of the Sorcerer Kingdom, places his final hope in Yumemi's mysterious powers.
Yumemi is confused by the sudden visit of the king of another world.
Will the two of them be able to save the world from crisis?
Two destinies that cross paths across vast distances of time and space are now beginning to move!

Review and Recommendation

"The World Reflected in the Eyes of a Girl Looking Up at the Sky" is a TV anime series produced by Kyoto Animation that aired in 2009. This is a fantasy work that depicts the encounter and adventure of Yumemi, a girl who has been able to see mysterious islands since she was a child, and Munt, a boy from the heavens. Below, we will explain in detail the appeal and features of this work, as well as recommended points.

The appeal of the story

The story of this work is set in a world where the circulation of "Akuto", a power that Yumemi can see and which maintains the balance between the heavenly and earthly worlds, has been cut off. It begins with Yumemi's meeting with Munto, who places his final hope in her power, and depicts the two of them struggling to save the world from crisis. Although the story is short, with only nine episodes, each episode has a specific theme, deeply moving the viewer. For example, episode 1, "Knowing", depicts the process by which Yumemi meets Munto and discovers that she has a special power, while episode 9, "Loving", shows the deepening bond between Yumemi and Munto, and their ultimate determination to save the world.

Also not to be missed is the relationship between Yumemi and Munto that is depicted in the story. At first, Yumemi is confused by Munto's sudden visit, but she gradually comes to understand his sincerity and sense of mission, and they begin to work together to save the world. The growth and deepening bond between these two characters not only moves the viewer, but also makes them think about their own lives and relationships.

Character Appeal

Each character in this work is unique and leaves a strong impression on the viewer. The main character, Yumemi, has had the special power to see mysterious islands since she was a child, yet she lives the life of an ordinary middle school student. Her purity, kindness, and courage in the face of difficulties evoke sympathy from the viewer. Furthermore, Munto is the king of the Sorcerer Kingdom in the heavenly realm, but he is a character with a sense of mission who descends to the earthly realm to entrust his final hope to Yumemi's power. His sincere attitude and kindness towards Yumemi deeply move the viewer.

Yumemi's friends, such as Ichiko Ono, Suzume Imamura, and Kazuya Takamori, are also portrayed as fascinating characters. They support Yumemi and believe in Munt's powers and her existence, and together they face the crisis facing the world. The growth of these characters and the deepening of their bonds not only move the viewer, but also make them think about their own lives and relationships.

The appeal of video and music

The visuals of this work are characterized by Kyoto Animation's beautiful drawings and color settings. In particular, the islands of the heavens that Yumemi sees and the scenery of the Sorcerer Kingdom where Munto lives are depicted visually beautifully. The character designs are also unique, visually expressing Yumemi's purity and Munto's sense of mission. These visual beauties not only deeply move the viewer, but also enrich the worldview of the work.

The music is also one of the charms of this work. The opening theme, "Anemoi," is a beautiful song written and composed by riya of eufonius, with a memorable melody that symbolizes the meeting and adventure of Yumemi and Munto. The ending themes, "Light, Darkness and the End of Time" and "Wings of the Heart," are moving songs written and composed by Ceui, expressing the bond between Yumemi and Munto and their determination to save the world. These pieces of music not only deeply move the viewer, but also enrich the worldview of the work.

Recommended points

"The World Reflected in the Eyes of a Girl Looking Up at the Sky" is a work recommended for those who enjoy fantasy and moving stories. Yumemi and Munto's encounter and adventure, and their struggle to save the world from crisis will deeply move the viewer. In addition, the beautiful images and music also enhance the appeal of the work, making it a pleasure to watch and hear. Furthermore, the growth of the characters and the deepening of their bonds will make the viewer think about their own lives and relationships.

This is a must-watch for anyone who likes fantasy works or is looking for a moving story. It is also recommended for those who want to enjoy Kyoto Animation's beautiful drawings and color settings, as well as the beautiful music of eufonius and Ceui. This work is also perfect for those who want to empathize with the relationship between Yumemi and Munt and the growth of the characters.

"The World Reflected in the Eyes of a Girl Looking Up at the Sky" is a short but deeply moving work. I hope you will enjoy the adventures and growth of Yumemi and Munt through this work.
