Doctor Octopus joins Spider-Man 3, and the three generations of Spider-Man are getting closer and closer to being in the same frame

According to a recent report by Collider, Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man will return in Spider-Man 3, and the film is trying to get "everyone back." Alfred Molina, who played Doctor Octopus in Maguire's Spider-Man, has also officially joined the film and will continue to play Doctor Octopus.

Collider also revealed that Kirsten Dunst will return to play Mary Jane in Spider-Man 3. Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man is also expected to return, but the contract has not yet been finalized. Emma Stone, who plays "Gwen" in The Amazing Spider-Man, is currently pregnant and will return if conditions permit.

"Spider-Man 3" will open up the multiverse just like "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse", and multiple Spider-Men are expected to gather in the same movie.

Spider-Man 3 will be released in North America on December 17, 2021. Directed by Jon Watts, the film stars Tom Holland and Zendaya, and will tell the story of Spider-Man being framed by Mysterio and his true identity being exposed. Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange and Jamie Foxx as Electro have also been confirmed to star.
