Netflix raises prices again, with the highest subscription price rising by $2

Streaming giant Netflix will produce a lot of high-quality content in the future - such as the recently announced "Assassin's Creed" TV series and "Resident Evil" TV series. However, Netflix has once again increased its subscription prices for users in the United States.

According to information displayed in the Netflix Help Center, the subscription price that allows simultaneous playback on two devices has increased from US$13 (about RMB 87) per month to US$14 (about RMB 94). The subscription price for Premium members, which allows watching ultra-high-definition videos on four devices at the same time, has increased from US$16 (about RMB 107) per month to US$18 (about RMB 121) per month. The basic subscription price will remain at US$9 (about RMB 60) per month.

Netflix subscription prices have increased twice in the past few years. In January 2019, Netflix's subscription prices for US users increased due to a significant increase in the monthly cost of three-tier servers. In June 2019, the same thing happened to UK users.

Netflix is still a growing company, and an investor conference on October 20 revealed that Netflix's revenue grew 22.7% in the third quarter of 2020, bringing in $790 million in profits. This is Netflix's most profitable quarter this year. However, this was the slowest year for new user growth in 2020. It added 2.2 million users in the third quarter, 15.7 million in the first quarter, and 10 million in the second quarter.

Netflix currently has 195 million subscribers worldwide and is profitable. The reason for the price increase is not yet clear.
