The Walking Dead may be coming to its final season soon, but there's more to come from AMC's ever-expanding zombie franchise. One of those is an anthology series called Tales of the Walking Dead, and showrunner Scott Gimple recently revealed some information about the series. Gimple revealed that Tales of the Walking Dead might not be a completely live-action series: "I would say that animation is something that I'm very focused on, and Robert Kirkman (writer of The Walking Dead) is very talented in this area, so this is a no-brainer for me. Matt Negrete and I actually both come from the animation industry. We originally did animation together and went to college together." Gimple said Kirkman is working on the animated series Invincible for Amazon (based on the comics he created), which could lead to a similar development for The Walking Dead: "Kirkman could be the one leading the way in that, leading us toward a Walking Dead animated series." The Walking Dead series will officially end in Season 11. The final season will have 24 episodes and will be broadcast from the end of 2021. Due to the epidemic, the production of the tenth season was forced to be interrupted, and there are still seven episodes left to be broadcast. |
