Michael B. Jordan to produce new DC film 'Static Sniper'

Actor Michael B. Jordan and his group Outlier Society have signed a production deal for the new DC film "Static Shock."

The Hollywood Reporter reports Michael B. Jordan is set to join Reginald Hudlin's adaptation of the 1993 comic book.

Michael B. Jordan said in an interview with the newspaper: "I am proud to be part of a new movie universe built around black superheroes. This is what our community deserves. Outlier Society is committed to adapting comic content across all platforms into reality, and we are also very happy to work with Regina and Warner for the first time."

Michael B. Jordan and Outlier Society seem to want to make a series of film adaptations, and this work should be a starting point. Michael B. Jordan's classic roles include playing the villain Panther in the Marvel movie "Black Panther" and starring in the sequel to "Rocky", "Creed". He also served as an executive producer in "Creed 2".

DC recently surprised fans at the FanDome event with news of a movie version of Static Electric. In addition to the movie, there is also a revival of the comic book series. There are also plans for related animated films and radio shows.

The new Static Electric comic book will be available digitally in February 2021, along with an original graphic novel written by Hudlin and illustrated by Kyle Baker.
