Ann Hui wins Venice Lifetime Achievement Award, the first female director to win this award

The 77th Venice Film Festival Golden Lion Lifetime Achievement Award Ceremony was held on September 8th local time. Chinese director Ann Hui won the award, becoming the first female director in the world to win the award. Cate Blanchett presented the award to Ann Hui. On the red carpet, Ann Hui appeared in a black suit, while Cate Blanchett appeared in a black and white dress suit, looking elegant and fashionable.

Ann Hui is a famous female film director, producer and screenwriter in Hong Kong. She was a famous member of the Hong Kong New Wave filmmakers in the 1970s and 1980s.

Directed by Ann Hui and adapted from Eileen Chang's novel, "The First Incense" recently released its first trailer, revealing the complicated emotional entanglement between Ge Weilong, Mrs. Liang, and Qiao Qiqiao. The film was shortlisted for this year's "Venice Film Festival" non-competitive screening.

Starring Ma Sichun, Yu Feihong, Peng Yuyan, Zhang Junning, Fan Wei, Liang Luoshi, Zhang Jianing, Yin Fang, Qin Pei, Bai Bing, etc. It tells the story of the female student Ge Weilong and the playboy Qiao Qiqiao in the upper class society of Hong Kong before the war.

The behind-the-scenes team includes director/producer Ann Hui, screenwriter Wang Anyi, director of photography Christopher Doyle, costume designer Emi Wada, music producer Ryuichi Sakamoto, art director Zhao Hai, sound recording director Du Duzhi, and editing director Kwong Chi-leung.
