According to foreign media reports, Ennio Morricone, a giant in the Italian film industry and master of film music, died of illness today on July 6 at the age of 91. During his more than 50-year career, he participated in dubbing more than 500 film and television works.

Ennio Morricone, Italian film score master, European film music giant, and Nino Rota are both known as "European film music leaders". Born in Rome in 1928, he graduated from the famous Santa Cecilia Conservatory of Music. So far, he has participated in the production of more than 500 film scores in various countries. He is the most prolific and accomplished composer in Italy. On February 25, 2007, Morricone received the belated Oscar Lifetime Achievement Award from Clint Eastwood.

It is reported that Ennio Morricone was admitted to the hospital last week due to a fractured thigh caused by a fall accident. Today he died due to complications of multiple diseases caused by old age and frailty.

Game producer Hideo Kojima also expressed his condolences upon learning of the incident. He had just bought the original soundtrack of "The Legend of 1900", a work in which the master participated, and unexpectedly received the news of the master's death.
