'Lethal Weapon 5' Movie Will Have Mel Gibson and Series Director Return

According to producer Dan Lin, the fifth and final "Lethal Weapon" movie will become a reality, with series stars Mel Gibson and Danny Glover returning along with series director Richard Donner.

Lin, who is the executive producer of the Lethal Weapon series, said in a Hollywood Reporter producer roundtable interview video that Warner Bros. plans to reload the series using the original cast.

"We're trying to make the last Lethal Weapon movie, and Richard Donner is coming back. The original cast is coming back. It's amazing. Mel Gibson and Danny are ready to come back, so it's just a matter of writing the script. It's going to be a very personal story."

The latest film in the "Lethal Weapon" series is "Lethal Weapon 4", in which Jet Li plays the villain. The film was released in the United States on July 10, 1998.
