Former 007 Pierce Brosnan joins new Cinderella film to play the king

Sony's musical film version of "Cinderella" starring Camila Cabello has added another heavyweight actor! Former "007" Pierce Brosnan has confirmed that he will join the cast to play the father of the king and prince Robert.

The film's previously confirmed cast includes singer Camila Cabello as Cinderella, actress Idina Menzel, who voices and sings for the "Snow Queen" Elsa, as Cinderella's "stepmother", black actor Billy Porter as the "Fairy Godmother", and Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Robert. Kay Cannon, the screenwriter of "Pitch Perfect," is the director, with the original inspiration coming from James Corden, and Camila Cabello producing the music.

The new version of "Cinderella" will be released in North America on February 5, 2021.
