John Woo's classic Hollywood film "Face/Off" will be rebooted after 22 years

After 22 years, Paramount decided to reboot the classic movie "Face/Off" directed by John Woo. The new version of the movie will use a brand new cast. The script will be written by Oren Uziel, the screenwriter of "The Cloverfield Paradox" and the game-adapted movie "Sonic the Hedgehog", and will be produced by Neal Moritz, the producer of the "Fast and Furious" series. The director and leading actor have not yet been determined.

John Woo's version of "Face/Off" stars Nicolas Cage and John Travolta, and focuses on the story of an FBI agent and a terrorist killer swapping faces. The whole film is full of John Woo's violent aesthetic style.

"Face/Off" was released in the United States on June 19, 1997. The film budget was $80 million and the global box office reached $245 million. The film has an IMDb score of 7.3 and a Rotten Tomatoes freshness of 92%.
