Final Destination movie reboot! Saw screenwriter joins

The classic thriller "Final Destination" series is being rebooted, with two screenwriters from the "Saw" series developing the script.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, New Line Cinema wants the Final Destination reboot to reimagine the series. Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, the screenwriters of Saw 4 to Saw 3D, will write the script for the sixth Final Destination movie.

The plot details of the new version of "Final Destination" are not yet known. Each movie in the old series tells the story of a group of young people who escaped death and eventually died because of "unforeseen and often random fatal accidents."

Final Destination 1 was released in 2000, and four more films followed. The latest one, Final Destination 5, was released in 2011. The series has grossed $665 million worldwide.
