Is Marvel's Defenders going to end? Netflix cancels Luke Cage again

According to foreign media reports, Netflix just announced last week that it would not renew the Marvel superhero series "Iron Fist", which has a poor reputation. Recently, it issued a joint statement with Marvel again, announcing that due to "creative differences", Marvel's black superhero series "Luke Cage" will not be renewed for the third season.

The Defenders, which consists of Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Daredevil, will probably not be filming a second season.

Netflix currently has three series in cooperation with Marvel Studios: the earliest "debut" "Daredevil" aired its latest season yesterday; "Daredevil" spin-off "The Punisher" received a warm response after its broadcast last year and has been renewed for a second season, which is expected to be broadcast next year; "Jessica Jones" was renewed for a third season at the beginning of this year and is still being filmed.

Considering that Marvel's parent company Disney is focusing on developing its streaming business, it would prefer Marvel series to return to its own platform rather than letting streaming giants like Netflix monopolize the market. The two seasons of "Iron Fist" and "Luke Cage" may return to Disney's streaming platform for rebroadcast in the future, but it is not yet known whether Marvel will continue to shoot separately in the future.
