New Zealand Chinese actor plays the lover in Disney's live-action version of "Mulan"!

According to foreign media reports, Disney's live-action version of "Mulan" recently revealed that a new actor has joined the cast. New Zealand Chinese actor Yoson An (Chinese translation: An Yousen) will play Mulan's lover Chen Honghui.

Yoson An has starred in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny". In addition to "Mulan", he will also appear in "The Meg" and Universal's new sci-fi film "Predator City: Mortal Engines".

Among the confirmed cast members, Donnie Yen plays Commander Tung, Mulan's mentor; Gong Li plays the villain; Jet Li plays the emperor. In addition, Vietnamese Chinese actress Tang Xana plays Mulan's sister.

The live-action version of Mulan will be directed by female director Niki Caro (Whale Rider, North Country), and is scheduled to be released in North America on March 27, 2020.
