The popular manga "My Little Pony", written by Akira Akasaka and illustrated by Moeka Yokomura, was adapted into an animation of the same name by Animation Studio last year and aired, which received a good response. Recently, Toei confirmed that it will cooperate with Amazon to produce a live-action movie and TV series adaptation of "My Little Pony", which is expected to be released in winter 2024. The TV series version will premiere through Amazon Prime Video, and the movie version will be released in theaters cooperating with Toei. From the exposed posters, we can see that Saito Asuka will play the core character Hoshino Ai, Sakurai Kion will play the male lead Hoshino Aikuni, Saito Nagisa will play the female lead Hoshino Rumi, while Hara Nanoka, Kajima Mizuki and Ano will play Arima Kana, Kurokawa Akane and MEM CYO respectively. It is worth mentioning that the original work of "My Little Pony" borrowed some elements from the Japanese entertainment industry. Therefore, when the live-action version was proposed, the original author Akira Akasaka suggested that "it would never be adapted into a live-action version." But the live-action version has now begun production. Although Akira Akasaka is still full of doubts, he also expressed his gratitude to the producers and staff, saying, "I hope everyone can witness this process with me." |
