David Fincher, director of Seven, says audiences don't need to know what's in the box with Morgan Freeman

"Seven", a thriller directed by David Fincher and starring Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow, was originally released in September 1995.

In the movie, the police officer William, played by Morgan Freeman, opens the box given to him by the serial killer John, played by Kevin Spacey. Although there is no frontal shot showing what is in the box, everyone who has seen the movie knows that it contains the head of Tracy, played by Gwyneth Paltrow.

However, after the release of "Seven", there have been rumors that the director made prosthetics (head or whole body) for the relevant characters, but they did not appear in the movie. Recently, David Fincher revealed in an interview with foreign media "Entertainment" that this statement is "completely ridiculous."

David Fincher said: "I think we had a seven or eight pound sandbag. We did research to figure out if Gwyneth Paltrow's body mass index is X, how much of that is attributable to her head. So we knew how much it weighed, and I think there was weight in it. We did put a wig in there so that when Morgan rips the box open, if there's some tape in the box that's used to seal the box - I think it's a bullet bag and a wig, I think there's a little blood in the wig, so some of the hair will stick together. Remember, I think Morgan opens 16 or 17 of these things. But as I always say, if you have Morgan Freeman (unraveling the mystery for the audience), you don't need to see what's in the box."
