According to foreign media TheWrap, just a few days before the WGA screenwriters' strike, DC Studios co-head James Gunn submitted the first draft of "Superman: Legacy" last week. Gunn is currently casting for the DCU reboot, which is not expected to be affected by the WGA strike as the superhero film is scheduled to begin production in the first quarter of 2024. Gunn will serve as the screenwriter and director of "Superman: Legacy", which will introduce a new Superman to usher in a new era of the DC Universe. "Superman: Legacy" is expected to be released on July 11, 2025, and will tell the story of how Superman reconciles his Kryptonian lineage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent. According to DC Studios, "He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by the goodness of humanity in a world that regards kindness as obsolete." |
