Sony and Legendary Pictures join forces to reach global marketing cooperation agreement

Legendary Pictures has established a global film distribution partnership with Sony Pictures after "breaking ties" with Warner Bros. According to reports, Legendary Pictures and Sony Pictures have reached an agreement that Sony will be responsible for the global distribution and sales of Legendary films (excluding mainland China), while Legendary East, a subsidiary of Legendary Pictures, will continue to be responsible for the distribution and sales in mainland China.

This cooperation agreement does not include the "Dune" and "Godzilla" series of films. Warner will still be responsible for the promotion and distribution of the 2023 "Dune 2" and the yet-to-be-determined "Godzilla vs. Kong 2".

In addition, Sony is also responsible for the film's home entertainment and TV on-demand services. Since Sony does not have streaming media, Legendary will continue to cooperate with other companies for online distribution, such as the recent launch of "Miss Holmes 2" with Netflix.
