The Lord of the Rings: The Power of the Rings officially announced as "the most expensive American TV series ever"

The Lord of the Rings series The Lord of the Rings: The Power of the Rings has released a new official trailer. The grand legendary story of the Second Age of Middle-earth begins, telling the origin of the "Power of the Rings" before the "One Ring". It will be aired on September 2, soon. The first season of the series has 8 episodes, with a budget of up to 465 million US dollars, known as the "most expensive American TV series in history". It is directed by J.A. Bayona ("Jurassic World 2" and "The Impossible") and operated by John D. Payne & Patrick McKay ("Star Trek 3").

The Lord of the Rings: The Power of the Rings official trailer:

The plot synopsis is: "For the first time in film and television, the heroic legends of the legendary Second Age of Middle-earth will be presented. This grand drama series is set thousands of years before the events of Tolkien's "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings", and will take the audience back to that era: powerful forces were forged, kingdoms rose gloriously and fell into dust, unexpected heroes were tested, hope hung on a thin thread, and Tolkien's most powerful villain was about to cast darkness on all worlds. The series begins in a relatively peaceful period and focuses on a group of characters - both familiar and unfamiliar - facing a long-standing fear: evil has returned to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the magnificent forests of Lindon, the capital of the elves, to the exciting island nation of Numenor, to the farthest places on the map... The legends these kingdoms and characters will create will be told long after they are gone."
