The author of Akira, Katsuhiro Otomo, said that he is planning a new manga that will be released soon.

Katsuhiro Otomo, a Japanese cartoonist who created such masterpieces as "Akira" and "Dodo's Dream," has not had any new works for a long time. However, in a Q&A session with netizens late at night on August 6, Katsuhiro Otomo said that he was brewing a new comic, which would be published somewhere in the near future. He also said that comics were too difficult to draw.

• Katsuhiro Otomo was born on April 14, 1954 in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. He is a Japanese animation director, screenwriter, producer and cartoonist. In 1986, he directed his first animated film "Labyrinth Story", which officially started his directorial career. In 1988, he directed the science fiction animated film "Akira" which was released. •Interestingly, Katsuhiro Otomo also answered other questions that netizens were concerned about. For example, cartoonist Yusuke Murata asked, "The space satellite weapon SOL that appeared in "Akira" looks like an electric shaver, and its name has the same pronunciation. Is it specially designed?" Katsuhiro Otomo said that when he was drawing, the inspiration for the design of objects he considered almost all came from the daily necessities around his desk, such as a robot designed as an ink bottle.
