The Lion King: The Legend of Mufasa to be introduced to mainland China

Sina Film reported today (October 29) that the prequel to Disney's new "The Lion King", "The Lion King: The Legend of Mufasa", has been confirmed to be introduced to mainland China and the release date is yet to be determined.

The film will be released in North America on December 20 this year. It is directed by Barry Jenkins, the director of "Moonlight", and the screenwriter of the previous film, Jeff Nathanson, returns to write the script. Hans Zimmer, Pharrell Williams, and Nicholas Britell ("Moonlight", "Whiplash", "The Big Short") compose the music, and Lin-Manuel Miranda creates original songs.

Aaron Pierre voices Mufasa, the orphan, stranger, and lion king; Kelvin Harrison Jr. voices Taka, or Scar, the lion prince with a bright future who accepts Mufasa as his brother and enters his family; Donald Glover returns to voice Simba; Beyoncé returns to voice Nala; Beyoncé and Jay-Z's daughter Blue Ivy voices Simba and Nala's daughter Kiara, making her film acting debut.
