Fujimoto's Chainsaw Man wins Harvey Award for Best Comic

According to foreign media reports, at today's (October 9) Harvey Awards ceremony, the famous cartoonist Fujimoto Itsuki's work "Chainsaw Man" won this year's Best Comic Award. The author Fujimoto Itsuki came to the scene to receive the award and gave the following acceptance speech.

"Thank you very much for the award, it's the best award in the US! Although I don't think this simple comic is good enough to win an award, so I plan to continue to improve this work with the things I like. If you consider a second award, please call me directly! Thank you!"

In addition, at this awards ceremony, the famous cartoonist Rumiko Takahashi (representative works "Inuyasha" and "Ranma ½") was inducted into the Manga Hall of Fame.

The Harvey Awards are given for achievement in comics. Named after writer-artist Harvey Kurtzman, the Harvey Awards were founded in 1988 by Gary Groth, president of publisher Fantagraphics, as a successor to the Kirby Awards, which ceased publication in 1987. The Harvey Awards are now nominated by the Harvey Awards Nominating Committee.
