■ Story

Having lost her father and then her mother during her travels, Perrine continues her journey to seek refuge with her grandfather, Villefran, who runs a textile factory in Malocourt, France. However, in Malocourt, Perrine learns that her grandfather is a lonely, cold-hearted man who knows no kindness or compassion. So Perrine changes her name to Aurelie, and, after her talent as an interpreter is recognized, she becomes Villefran's secretary, without letting him know that she is his granddaughter. Eventually, as Villefran comes into contact with Perrine's kind heart, he begins to develop a compassionate heart. Then, one winter day, Perrine is finally reunited with her grandfather, not as Aurelie, but as his real grandson.
