Queen's Blade Rebellion OVA is a 6-episode OVA series that was released on June 27, 2012. The series was created based on characters from the original HobbyJAPAN and released on DVD and Blu-ray by Media Factory. Each episode is short, about 10 minutes long, but packed with fascinating characters and storylines. It is directed by Morino Yousei, animated by ARMS, and produced by QB Rebellion Partners.

Story and Characters

The Queen's Blade Rebellion OVA is set on a continent in the midst of war, and depicts various warriors fighting with their own beliefs and goals. Of particular note is the story of Annelotte, the rebellious knight princess, and her step-sisters, who rise up to defeat the Queen of the Thunder Clouds and restore peace.

Annelotte is a member of the Margrave of Kreuz Knights and a warrior who can freely control the Underworld horse "Ambrosius". Her charisma and sense of justice attract her allies and give them the strength to fight alongside her. Her step-sisters are also unique, and a diverse cast of characters appears, including the Inquisitor Sigui, the alchemy strategist Yuit, and the Alchemy Steel Man Vante.

Siggy is a nun affiliated with the Central Curia, and as an inquisitor, she has strict religious beliefs. She sees Annelotte as being of demonic descent, and is in conflict with her. Meanwhile, Huit is a Little Elf girl with a genius mind, and is also Annelotte's childhood friend. The "Miracle of Alchemy," which combines her wisdom with the power of Vante, will be a great strength for the rebel army.

In addition, many other unique characters appear, such as the great pirate Captain Liliana, the super vibration maiden Milim, the anti-demon masters Tarunyan and Sainyan, the moonlight dancer Lunarna, the imprisoned dragon warrior Branwen, the summoner Aldra, the war god's samurai Izumi, the divine punishment executor Lyra, and the jewel princess Eirin. The backgrounds and abilities of each character, as well as the conflicts and growth they face, make the story deep and fascinating.

Although each story is short, the individuality and story of each character are well-drawn. In particular, Vol.1 features Annelotte's training scene, depicting her growth and the bond with her companions. Vol.2 depicts Milim's live change of clothes due to her vibration ability in a humorous way, allowing us to understand her character more deeply. Vol.3 depicts Branwen's humiliating situation, contrasting her strength and weakness. Vol.4 depicts Liliana's elegant aesthetic in a hot spring scene, highlighting her charm. Vol.5 depicts Aldra's new battle, highlighting the conflict between her past and present. And Vol.6 depicts a melee between Annelotte and her step-sisters, reaffirming their bond and the meaning of the battle.
