story

The main character, Sakura Ichiko, is a girl who is beautiful, intelligent, and healthy. She is perfect in every way. However, Momiji, the poverty god, believes that Ichiko's good fortune is upsetting the balance of the world, and so she appears before her to steal her energy. Momiji uses various poverty god tools to cause trouble for Ichiko, but Ichiko always gets out of trouble with her natural good fortune. The story revolves around the battle between Ichiko and Momiji, and progresses through interactions with the unique characters around them.

Sakura Ichiko (voiced by Hanazawa Kana) is an incredibly lucky girl who can get anything she wants without even trying. However, she also has a self-centered and egocentric side. Momiji (voiced by Uchiyama Yumi) is a poverty god who possesses Ichiko and takes various measures to steal her energy. Ishibuki Keita (voiced by Uchiyama Kouki) is Ichiko's classmate and the family's breadwinner who takes care of her younger siblings in place of their absent parents. Ryudo Ranmaru (voiced by Tomatsu Haruka) is Ichiko's classmate who transferred to a new school and is a tomboyish karate girl. Inugami Momoo (voiced by Shimono Hiro) is an inugami summoned by Momiji and has a very masochistic personality. Maobii (voiced by Kawahara Yoshihisa) is a monk who travels around exorcising evil spirits, and is very perverted despite having spiritual powers. Suwano Kikunoshin (CV: Naka Hiroshi) is Ichiko's butler who has served her since she was a child and knows her better than anyone else. Yamabuki (CV: Inoue Kikuko) is Momiji's boss in the world of poverty and issues orders to Momiji in the human world via telephone. Ayakouji Nadeshiko (CV: Kanda Sayaka) is the eldest daughter of the Ayakouji family, one of the world's top conglomerates.

Animation and visuals

Sunrise's high quality shines through in the animation of Binbougami ga!. Character design was done by Tanabe Kenji, who faithfully recreates the atmosphere of the original work while adding the unique charm of anime. In particular, the contrast between Ichiko and Momiji is visually enjoyable. The design of Momiji's Binbougami tools is also unique, providing visual interest.
