According to a recent report by Deadline, Interview with the Vampire will be filmed as a TV series. AMC has ordered a full season of the show, a total of 8 episodes, which is scheduled to be broadcast in 2022. Last May, AMC won the adaptation rights of Anne Rice's famous "Vampire Chronicles" novel series. Now "Interview with the Vampire" has become the first series to be approved. Rolin Jones ("Mason") will serve as the screenwriter and operator of the series. The development of the entire vampire series is controlled by Mark Johnson of "Breaking Bad". Anne and her son Christopher Rice serve as non-screenwriter executive producers. "The challenge of adapting Anne Rice's celebrated work for television is both daunting and exciting," said Johnson. "I have made films of this nature before and I am confident that together with AMC and Lorraine Jones, we can rise to the challenge of making this film a success that will excite and delight Anne Rice's devoted fans and other audiences alike." Dan McDermott, president of AMC Original Programming, said: "We have been looking forward to this day since we won the rights to adapt the novel series "The Vampire Chronicles" last year. This novel series has millions of fans around the world, and we can't wait to share Lorraine and Mark's new interpretation of this classic work. We will also continue to work hard to develop the entire series." The novel "Interview with the Vampire" was published in 1976, and the movie was released in 1994.
