Japan's first "movie commentary" short video publisher arrested for intellectual property infringement

Japan's first "movie commentary" short video publisher arrested for intellectual property infringement

Nowadays, many "movie commentary" short videos in China have been stopped one after another. Neighboring Japan seems to be cracking down on it more severely. According to Japanese media reports on June 23, the first publisher of "movie commentary" short videos in Japan was arrested on charges of intellectual property infringement.

·Once upon a time, short videos of "movie commentary" that condensed a movie into a few minutes were very popular on major video sites. The reason was that they were simple and quick. People would watch the full version when they felt like it, and would not skip it directly. There seemed to be many viewers who held this idea, but the film companies were obviously very unhappy.

The Miyagi Prefectural Police in Japan recently arrested three young male and female suspects on the charge of illegally posting a 10-minute "movie commentary" short video, suspected of infringing intellectual property rights. This is the first actual controlled case of this kind in Japan. According to police investigation, the three young male and female suspects posted the video without authorization, causing huge losses to the copyright film company.

According to a survey by Japanese film and animation industry groups, in the past year, at least 55 channels have uploaded and released more than 2,100 "movie commentary" short videos, and the copyright holders may have lost more than 95.6 billion yen.
