Netflix creates "Ultraman" CG movie Ultraman is going to raise a monster baby

Netflix announced that they are working with Tsuburaya Productions to create a new CG Ultraman movie, hoping to bring this popular Japanese character to a wider global audience. After all, Ultraman is not as popular in Western countries and regions such as Europe and the United States as it is in Asia.

The new Ultraman CG movie will retain the existing live-action performances in the series, but the setting of the Ultraman character will be different from before. The plot of the movie is as follows:

"Baseball superstar Sato returns to his native Japan to take up the mantle of Earth's superhero Ultraman. But things soon turn out to be far more complicated than he bargained for: he's forced to raise the offspring of his greatest enemy: a newborn monster. Struggling to strike a balance between being a teammate and a new father, Sato must confront his ego, his estranged father, and the rise of the insidious Monster Defense Force as he discovers what it truly means to be Ultraman."

The film is directed by Shannon Tindle, who has a rich background in animation, having worked as a character designer on the traditional 2D animation Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, as a lead on the stop-motion animation Kubo and the Two Strings, and as a character designer/animator on Coraline. Tindle is also currently a producer on the Netflix animated series Ollie's Lost.

Tsuburaya Productions CEO Takayuki Tsukakoshi described the new film project as "Tsuburaya Productions' first full-scale effort to enter the global market." Netflix currently has more than 200 million subscribers worldwide, and after watching this movie, they are likely to become fans of Ultraman.
