Nominations for the 45th Kodansha Manga Award: 13 works nominated, grand prize announced on May 13

Kodansha, one of the giants in Japan's manga publishing industry, announced today on April 7 the nominations for its 45th "Manga Award". Among them are 13 popular manga recently, which are divided into three categories: "Boys' Department", "Girls' Department" and "General Department". The grand prize will be announced on May 13, so stay tuned.

Kodansha was formerly known as Dai Nippon Yōbōkai Kodansha. It was founded by Noma Seiji in Tokyo, Japan in 1909 and is a member of the Otowa Group. It is now Japan's largest comprehensive publishing house and copyright holder. It is one of the major manga publishers in Japan, and is known as the three major manga publishers in the Japanese publishing industry along with Shueisha and Shogakukan.
