Martin and HBO renew 5-year contract to create "Game of Thrones" spin-off series

According to foreign media Deadline, HBO and HBO Max have now signed a five-year agreement with George RR Martin because his legendary story of "A Song of Ice and Fire" has brought HBO a very successful TV series IP and a series of planned spin-offs.

According to the agreement, Martin will develop content for HBO and HBO Max, and the contract amount is said to be as high as eight figures. Since 2013, Mr. Martin has been under overall contract with HBO.

Martin is the co-creator and executive producer of the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel series Dragons. He has also served as executive producer on several Game of Thrones prequel spinoffs, including The Nine Voyages Away, Flea Bottom, Ten Thousand Ships, and a possible future Game of Thrones animated series.

In addition, George Martin will also produce the two series "Signposts" and "Who Fears Death?" At present, it is not known when HBO's "Game of Thrones" spin-off will premiere, but Martin has not yet completed the sixth volume of "A Song of Ice and Fire", "The Winds of Winter". It was previously reported that he hoped to finish it this year, but many fans seem to have given up hope.
