The sequel to Puss in Boots will be released in North America on September 23 next year

Today (March 18), according to foreign media Contactmusic, Universal Pictures and DreamWorks announced that the sequel to "Puss in Boots", "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish", will be released in North America on September 23, 2022. The film will be directed by Joel Crawford ("The Croods 2"), Mark Swift will serve as producer, and Antonio Banderas will continue to voice Puss in Boots.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish tells the story of Puss in Boots who discovers that he has paid the price for his passion for adventure, having used up eight of his nine lives, leaving only one. So he embarks on an epic journey to find the mythical "last wish" to restore his nine lives.

Puss in Boots was originally a supporting character in "Shrek the Monsters". In 2011, the independent film grossed $554 million worldwide with an investment of $130 million.
