Since April 2018, Deadpool 2 director David Leitch has been invited to direct the film version of Ubisoft's game The Division, but foreign media Collider recently learned that David Leitch, who has been busy, has stepped aside (quit) to concentrate on making Netflix movies. Rawson Marshall Thurber, the director of Skyscraper, will replace David Leitch and direct The Division. The Division is adapted from the novels of the famous writer Tom Clancy. In March 2008, Tom Clancy granted Ubisoft the permanent right to use the title of his military works. Ubisoft created a series of games called the "Tom Clancy Series" based on a series of Clancy's novels, and The Division is one of them. When David Leitch was still the director of the film, the official found Rafe Judkins to write the script for the film. Now director Rawson Marshall Thurber will write the script from scratch with Ellen Shanman, and he will also produce the film through his own company Bad Version. David Leitch is still the producer of the film version of "The Division". Jake Gyllenhaal and hardworking sister Jessica Chastain will co-star in this film. |
