The director's cut of Justice League cost $70 million to reshoot, but Zack Snyder didn't get a penny

Before the director's cut of Justice League was released, Director Zack Snyder shared some of his new ideas for the re-edited version of the movie. Director Zack Snyder revealed that he was not paid to remake this version of the movie and had never seen the original version of Justice League.

In an interview with the old American magazine Vanity Fair, it was mentioned that the rumor that Zack Snyder had been asking Joss Whedon to help complete the original Justice League movie was false. Instead, Zack Snyder said that he tried to make the best of the bad situation at the time and remained optimistic, "Maybe he can write a cool storyboard. I think that would be fun." It turns out that Zack Snyder has never seen the Justice League made by Joss Whedon.

But even before his daughter Autumn's suicide, Snyder and Justice League were facing increasing troubles and conflicting orders from Warner Bros. Chief among them, Snyder said, was the desire to shorten the film.

Director Zack Snyder said: "How could I introduce six characters and an alien with the potential to conquer the world in two hours? But obviously, it has been done. But I didn't see it (referring to not watching the original "Justice League")."

According to Vanity Fair, part of what helped Snyder realize his desire to reshoot Justice League was that he gave up his salary. He said, "I don't have a salary. I don't want to be beholden to anyone. This (not asking for compensation) also allows me to retain my negotiating power (with Warner)." Snyder didn't say that shooting his four-hour version of Justice League was a difficult task - the reshoots reportedly cost $70 million.
