Days after winning a contest from James Halliday, founder of Oasis, Wade Watts discovers a piece of high-tech technology in Halliday's vault that will change the world once again and make Oasis a thousand times more awesome and addictive. Along with it comes a new puzzle and quest - Halliday's final Easter Egg, which hints at a mysterious reward.

Meanwhile, an unexpected, impossibly powerful, and dangerous new adversary awaits, one who will kill millions to get what he wants. Once again, Wade's life and the future of the OASIS are threatened, but this time, the fate of humanity hangs in the balance.

There has been no official announcement of a sequel yet, but the first film directed by Steven Spielberg cost $175 million and grossed $582 million worldwide, with a box office of nearly 1.4 billion yuan in mainland China. Although it is not a big profit for Warner Bros., there is still a possibility of a sequel.

The novel Ready Player One was published in 2011 and topped the New York Times bestseller list for more than 100 consecutive weeks. It has been translated into 37 languages ​​and is available in 58 countries and regions (including the simplified Chinese version).
