New Year's goods are out of stock. 2020 will be the first year without a Marvel movie in a decade.

As expected, many movies originally scheduled for release this year have been postponed, including Black Widow. With the next film in the Marvel Universe pushed back to 2021, all Marvel movies scheduled for this year have been withdrawn - making 2020 the first year since 2009 without any Marvel movies released.

This is somewhat surprising, given that Marvel movies have become a staple of the decade, whether you think about it or not. Regardless, it seems reasonable to break with tradition in this strange year.

New Marvel movies are released like clockwork. Not only is this the first time in nearly a decade that we haven't seen a Marvel movie, it's also the first time since 2012 that Marvel hasn't released two movies in a year, and the first time since 2016 that Marvel hasn't released three movies in a year. New Marvel movies are released like the seasons.

Marvel movies released years

■ 2008: "Iron Man," "The Incredible Hulk"

■ 2010: Iron Man 2

■ 2011: Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor

2012: The Avengers

■ 2013: Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World

■ 2014: Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.

■ 2015: Avengers: Independence Day, Ant-Man

■ 2016: Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange

■ 2017: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok

■ 2018: Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp

■ 2019: Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home

If there was a time to take a break, now is the best time. Avengers: Endgame wrapped up the multi-year story of the three phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now it's time to take a break, and they are doing so - it's their plan. Black Widow was originally scheduled to be released in May 2020, and now it looks like the break will last longer than expected.

As a prequel, even though this is the first Black Widow movie, it doesn't look like it will be the main start of Phase 4. There is no doubt that the delay of "Black Widow" is to some extent an economic issue-"Creed" did not set off a fire around the world, and people stayed away from theaters. However, this is also good news, at least people are not required to gather in a room. I mean, the non-stop release of Marvel movies is comforting (the world is peaceful), and all signs indicate that 2020 is not an ordinary year.
