According to media reports on August 24, the famous Japanese director Kitano Takeshi's masterpiece "Kikujiro's Summer" will be released in mainland China on September 10. This must-see summer movie, which was shortlisted for the Cannes Palme d'Or and scored 8.8 on Douban, will be the first Takeshi Kitano work to be released in mainland China. The film will be released in a restored version.

"Kikujiro's Summer" is a fresh and warm film written, directed and acted by Japanese director Takeshi Kitano. The film stars Takeshi Kitano, Kayoko Kishimoto, Kazuko Yoshiyuki and others. It was first released in Japan on June 5, 1999.

The story tells the story of a third-grade elementary school student named Masao (played by Yusuke Sekiguchi) who develops a subtle relationship with Kikujiro (played by Takeshi Kitano) while searching for his divorced mother. Masao also gets the "Angel Bell" and walks out of the haze. The film was released on May 20, 1999.
