Nolan's new film "Tenet" has been scheduled to be released in mainland China on September 4, but some European countries have already screened the film to the media. Two reporters who watched the film gave their impressions to the foreign media Worldofreel. The first batch of film reviews said that "Tenet" is Nolan's best film after "Inception", and it has many twists and turns. Reporter's comment: "This is obviously a movie for Nolan's fans. They will love every minute of this movie. This is Nolan's best movie since "Inception". It's similar to Scorsese coming back to make a gangster movie or John Ford making another western. Nolan returned to his roots after making "Dunkirk". "Tenet" has so many twists and turns, its story is like a puzzle, and there are also heavy action scenes. 150 minutes passed in a flash. To be honest, I still don’t fully understand some parts of the story, and watching it again helped to sort things out, this is a very complex time travel movie. If Inception was about dreams, then Tenet is about reversing time and correcting past mistakes. The locations are also amazing, with locations shot in many countries. This movie will probably make a ton of money because it gives Nolan fans exactly what they want, and the final scenes really require multiple viewings.” The second journalist commented: "Contrary to mainstream moviegoers, I am not a big fan of Nolan's films. For example, I think his best work is actually "Dunkirk", in which he tried to avoid giving us the brain-burning puzzles that his other films would bring, and only used superb technology and minimalist perspectives to depict World War II. Other films of his that I like include "Memento", "Insomnia", "The Prestige" and "The Dark Knight" (the last 20 minutes). I don't particularly like "Interstellar" and "Inception", which seem to me like forced illusions that deliberately confuse me in the process instead of telling the story in a coherent way. I didn't expect him to be so good at shooting scenes. He doesn't like to stay on one shot for too long, but keeps switching. Anyway, we already know that Tenet is not a movie like Dunkirk, but it is much better than Inception and Interstellar because: a) there is not much exposition; b) the actors are great, especially John David Washington, I also like Elizabeth Debicki's role, and Robert Pattinson is the calm and collected Xiao Li in Inception; c) the plot twists are actually not that complicated, you can follow the plot of the movie without getting lost. Like some of Nolan's other movies, Tenet has a lot to do with time and fate, but it is presented in a more refreshing and concise way. The action scenes are great, and it feels like Nolan has learned a lot from the experience of making Dunkirk. He is now more confident in the way he performs the action, and there are almost no superfluous and excessive movements. It feels like it is done with ease. " |
