Terminator 6 lost more than 100 million US dollars, and the sequel is basically dead

The 2019 film "Terminator 6: Dark Fate" was in an awkward position due to the lack of critical support and the huge box office losses. Although the original director James Cameron personally participated in the screenwriting of the film, the global audience did not have much interest in the film.

Recently, Mackenzie Davis, who plays Grace in the film, said in an interview with the media that Terminator 6: Dark Fate will not continue to shoot a sequel. She said: "I love this movie and I am proud of our performance, but this movie can't arouse the audience's interest. If you think people will still want to watch Terminator 7, you must be crazy."

It is understood that "Terminator: Dark Fate" only recovered 261 million US dollars in the end, but the production cost of the film was as high as 200 million US dollars. After taking into account marketing and other expenses, the film lost as much as 100 million US dollars.

The film's "phenomenal flop" was something the filmmakers had not expected. Before the film was released in 2019, Cameron boasted that the sequel would further explore the relationship between humans and artificial intelligence. Arnold Schwarzenegger also said at the time that Cameron was writing the next two sequels, which were scheduled to start filming in early 2020 and be released in 2022. However, after Terminator: Dark Fate was released, the film's production company confirmed to the media that there were currently no plans for a sequel.
