Michael Bay, the director of Transformers, returns to Sony and signs a multi-year deal

According to an exclusive report from DeadLine, Michael Bay has reached a multi-year film cooperation agreement with Sony Pictures, which also means that he has returned to Sony after many years. After all, his first directorial film "Bad Boys" belongs to Sony.

Michael Bay is famous for the Transformers series in recent years. Although Transformers 4 in 2014 won him the 35th Golden Raspberry Award, his collaboration with Netflix last year, 6 Underground, was very successful and is one of the most popular new movies on Netflix.

DeadLine said that Michael Bay will direct the new film "Black Five" for Sony, adapted from his own ideas, and the script will be written by "Top Gun" screenwriter Ehren Kruger.

Although the Transformers series of movies have received mediocre reviews in the industry, the box office revenue is still considerable. Both Dark of the Moon and Age of Extinction have grossed over $1 billion worldwide. In fact, Michael Bay has been a TV producer for some time recently, contributing to popular series on Amazon and Netflix, so he will also be responsible for the production of TV series under Sony.
