The distributor of "Parasite" responded to the accusation of plagiarism: We have not received any news

Today (February 19), according to Korean media reports, the movie "Parasite" was recently accused of plagiarism by Indian filmmakers. In response, CJ ENM, the distribution company of "Parasite", stated that it has not received any contact from India.

Earlier, on February 17, India Today reported that Indian Tamil film producer PL Thenappan posted on social media that "Parasite" directed by Bong Joon-ho plagiarized his own film and was preparing to file a lawsuit.

Tenapan, who produced Minsara Kanna in 1999, said that he saw Parasite at the Oscars, which is similar to this film in terms of composition, and will hire international lawyers to decide whether to sue within two or three days. But he did not mention which part of Parasite it was.

It is reported that the Indian movie "Minsara Kanna" tells the story of a man who conceals his identity in order to win love and works as a bodyguard in the home of a wealthy lover. The protagonist's younger brother and older sister also work as a servant and a cook in that home respectively, and live together.

In response to PLThenappan's claim, CJ ENM, the distributor of "Parasite", said it had never heard of the matter and had not received any contact from the Indian side.
