The first trailer of the anime "Higurashi When They Cry" is released and will be broadcast in July 2020

Today (March 21), the classic Japanese anime "Higurashi When They Cry" created by Ryukishi07 released the first promotional video of a new project. The anime has been confirmed to be officially broadcast in July 2020. Keiichiro Kawaguchi will serve as the supervisor of the work and Akio Watanabe will be responsible for the original character drawings.

"Higurashi When They Cry" is an AVG text adventure game created by the Japanese doujin club 07th Expansion in 2002. However, it is better to regard it as a visual novel rather than a game. Players can appreciate the unique concept that this work wants to convey to everyone by appreciating the character illustrations of "Higurashi When They Cry" and the plot that interweaves suspense, blood and love. In 2006, "Higurashi When They Cry" was adapted into an anime for the first time.

The story of "Higurashi When They Cry" takes place in the early summer of 1958, in the small mountain village of Hinamizawa, far away from the city. Keiichi Maehara moved from the big city to this village with a population of less than 2,000. With his cheerful and talkative personality, he quickly got along well with his schoolmates and lived an ordinary life with his friends. However, on the day of the "Wanyu Festival" held every June, a series of mysterious deaths have occurred every year, with one person dead and one missing since a few years ago. What is the truth behind the incident?
