Restored version of Farewell My Concubine to be re-screened to mark 17th anniversary of Leslie Cheung's death

To commemorate the 17th anniversary of Leslie Cheung's death, South Korean cinemas will once again re-screen the restored version of "Farewell My Concubine". The re-screening schedule was adjusted from March 25 to April 1, the 17th anniversary of Leslie Cheung's death. At the same time, a poster was released, showing Leslie Cheung's role as Cheng Dieyi, with a beautiful picture.

In 1993, South Korean cinemas introduced Farewell My Concubine, which caused a great response. In 2017, Farewell My Concubine was released in South Korea for the second time.

Farewell My Concubine won the Best Foreign Language Film Award at the 15th Blue Dragon Film Awards in 1994. Leslie Cheung, the lead actor, became one of the most popular Chinese actors among Korean audiences. The Korean Film Critics Association once commented that Leslie Cheung's film acting art is absolutely a master among masters. Artists such as Jeon Ji-hyun, Song Hye-kyo, G-Dragon, and Lee Joon-gi have all expressed their love for Leslie Cheung.
