Today (February 10), the film "1917", which won three awards at this year's Oscars for Best Cinematography, Best Sound Effects, and Best Visual Effects, has been confirmed to be introduced to the mainland. It will be jointly produced by China Film Distribution and Alibaba Pictures, and the film will be released in the mainland in 2020.

"1917" is a war film co-produced by the United Kingdom and the United States, directed by Sam Mendes and co-written with Christy Wilson-Crunch. The story mainly describes two young British soldiers who passed through the hail of bullets during World War I to convey important intelligence to prevent friendly forces from falling into the trap of the German army. Its starring actors include George MacKay, Dean-Charles Chapman, Mark Strong, Andrew Scott, Richard Madden, Claire Duburcq, Colin Firth and Benedict Cumberbatch.

Plot summary: In the spring of 1917, during World War I, the German army retreated from the battlefield to the Hindenburg Line, where mines and snipers were set as traps. After a long stalemate with the German army, the British army looked for an opportunity to eliminate the opponent and planned to attack the Hindenburg Line. At the last minute, they found out that this was a trap set by the German army. Two young British soldiers, Blake and Schofield, were ordered to go to the front line to convey orders, race against time, and venture into enemy territory to demand that the attack on the German army be stopped.
