"Nezha: The Devil Child Comes into the World" English dubbing version hits North American theaters: foreigners rush to watch

Among the movies released in 2019, the four movies with the highest cumulative box office are "Nezha: The Devil Child Comes into the World" (5 billion), "The Wandering Earth" (4.656 billion), "Avengers 4" (4.241 billion) and "My People, My Country" (3.024 billion).

According to a recent report from Xinhua News Agency in Los Angeles, the English dubbed version of "Nezha: The Devil Child Comes into the World" will hit North American theaters on January 31, meeting American and Canadian audiences. Well Go, the American company responsible for the North American distribution of the film, said that the English dubbed version of "Nezha" will be released in theaters in 13 cities including Los Angeles, New York, Houston, Toronto, and Ottawa. The Mandarin Chinese version of "Nezha" with English subtitles was first released in 66 IMAX 3D theaters in Los Angeles, New York and other places in August last year, and then it was fully rolled out in North American 2D theaters in early September, with a total North American box office of approximately US$3.7 million.

Directed by the young director Jiaozi, Nezha is based on Chinese mythology and tells the story of Nezha, who was born as a demon and went through hardships but refused to accept his fate and fought to the end. The film grossed more than 5 billion yuan in mainland China, becoming the second highest-grossing film in Chinese film history and the highest-grossing Chinese domestic animated film.

Qi Deping, founder of Well Go, believes that "Nezha" is a very excellent Chinese animation. The Mandarin version released last year mainly attracted the Chinese community. He hopes that the English dubbing version that breaks the "language barrier" this time can better share the story with North American audiences.
