Deadpool actor: I can't believe Marvel allowed me to make an adult-rated movie

Before Disney and Fox completed the deal for the production rights of "X-Men" related films, Disney CEO Bob Iger expressed his willingness to make "Deadpool 3" with an R rating (adult rating) in 2017. Although this is the same as "Deadpool 2", the leading actor Ryan Reynolds still gave them the green light for Disney and Marvel, which mainly focus on "family-friendly" content.

Speaking to Fandango alongside his upcoming Deadpool vs. Wolverine co-star Hugh Jackman and director Shawn Levy, Reynolds said: "I hope this doesn't sound too pretentious, but I'm really proud of what Disney and Marvel did. I think it's a huge step for them. I mean, it adds a whole new color to this kaleidoscopic wheel of that company and the different people that they've been bringing to the table, so I was surprised that they allowed us to go the 'hard R' route."

“But there was no other choice. You know this character and this world, and especially you know that Logan was an R-rated movie. I feel like it’s the most complete version of Wolverine and Logan that we’ve ever seen. So it really gave us a lot of freedom, not to exploit the R rating and do R-rated things, but it really allowed us to do anything in a world where anything is possible.”

Deadpool vs. Wolverine is set to hit theaters on July 26.
