Midnight at Freddy's is expected to gross over $50 million

The movie of the same name adapted from the classic horror game "Midnight at Freddy's" is scheduled to be released in theaters and streaming media Peacock on October 27 this year. The film is jointly produced by Universal Pictures and Blum House.

According to Deadline, "Midnight at Freddy's" may become the second-highest opening film in North America this fall, second only to "Taylor Swift: The Time Tour" with $92.8 million.

Since movies released before Halloween in the North American market tend not to do well, the previous record holders were "Saw 3" with a $36 million debut in 2006 and "Puss in Boots" with a $34 million debut in 2011.

It is worth mentioning that although "Midnight at Freddy's" will be available on streaming media, the film, which cost 20 million US dollars to produce, is expected to have received 11 million US dollars in pre-sale box office. Therefore, the producers optimistically estimate that this film may surpass its predecessors in previous years and break the 50 million US dollar box office mark on its premiere.

<<:  The second season of the TV animation "Moonlight Journey to Another World" will be aired in January next year

>>:  The release date of the movie "Moscow Operation" has been extended to November 29
